Brew Timer Review
Application software download free Android
Brew Timer is a powerful tool for homebrewers who need to keep track of everything that's going on during the brewing process. The program lets brewers create a set of events that can be triggered at specific times, like adding hops, spices, or wort chiller. It can also record pre-boil steeping and post-boil boil additions and allows brewers to add notes for each event. These entries can then be grouped into Recipe Profiles that can be loaded and used again at another time.
A free version of the app is available from the Play Store, but a $20-a-year subscription unlocks premium features like integration with an electric hydrometer and support for multiple recipes. There's also BeerCalc, a free, web-based alternative that has a less polished user interface and doesn't allow for as much customization of ingredients, but it does feature an extensive database of user-submitted recipes to get ideas and help with planning brewing sessions.
The most comprehensive option is BeerSmith, which offers a full suite of tools for creating brewing recipes and managing inventory. It's available as a direct download for Windows, macOS, and Linux, or as an online web app with a hefty price tag of $35 a year after a 21-day free trial. It's not as polished and intuitive as some of the other options, but it does include a powerful recipe designer, an integrated brew day planner, and support for popular brewing devices.
